William "Bill" Donohue is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for VPMEP. Bill manages a statewide partnership of experienced project managers responsible for improving the competitiveness of Virginia’s industries through direct consulting. As a result of VPMEP's value-added delivery, $580 million of client impact has been reported to independent sources since 2000. Such impact figures by clients have been driven in part by Bill’s establishing and refining strategic initiatives for clients to drive operational excellence, utilize supply chain management, incorporate lean, and additionally Lean Six SigmaSM through an established  partnership with George Group Consulting L.L.C. that services the mid-Atlantic region. Executive guidance has been provided to firms such as Applied Felts, AREVA NP, Boehringer Ingelheim Chemicals, Comptroller of the Currency, Misys Healthcare, Mohawk Industries, Naval Program Executive Office for Carriers, Naval Sea Systems Command, and Northrop Grumman Newport News. Prior to joining VPMEP, Bill completed start-up, expansion and turnaround executive assignments for Fortune 500 companies in sealants, packaging, and pressure sensitive adhesive and electronic films manufacture. He is a chemical engineering graduate of the University of Rochester and the GE Chemical Management Program and is a certified Lean Six SigmaSM black belt. Bill is a member of AME, AICHE, SPE, and is the chairperson for Danville Utilities, the largest municipally owned utility in Virginia.
