Phase I
Our team will help you define your supplier selection criteria by
evaluating your corporate strategy and by Value Stream Mapping your
supplier relationships. Baseline metrics will be established to
measure supply chain progress.
Phase
II
Once your core suppliers are selected, we will aid you in hosting
a workshop and Lean Supply Chain simulation. The simulation will
show your core suppliers where they will benefit from your LSC and
will encourage their commitment to your initiative.
- Supplier Assessment
We will then do an assessment of each supplier using common assessment
tools developed through years of experience and with hundreds
of clients. These assessments are deployed locally at your supplier’s
site using our nationwide network of Manufacturing Extension Program
(MEP) personnel. The findings will be presented to you together
with recommendations and program costs, which are to be shared
with your suppliers.
- Supplier Lean Deployment
GENEDGE and our partner MEP centers will build your suppliers’
Lean capabilities with Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen improvements
such as 5S, Set-up Reduction, Cellular Flow, Office Lean and Kanban.
GENEDGE project managers will also help your internal teams build
linkages with key suppliers to reduce non-value added activities
throughout the extended value stream.
Phase III
Finally, GENEDGE will help your team develop a long-term best practices
and best value supplier approach. Supplier evaluation, selection
and continuous improvement methods will be established. Agile replenishment
flow will be created using best practices that support your value
streams.
In addition, GENEDGE will help you:
- Build more flexibility into your production
and distribution system to allow for unforeseen demand fluctuations.
In other words, have a "plan B" ready to execute.
- Analyze your supply chain to determine
which functions add value to your products and which can be eliminated
because the customer is unwilling to pay the cost.
- Share information with all the companies
in your supply chain (including your customers) so that they fully
understand what you’re trying to accomplish and what role
they play.
- Control the process by using the most
current technology that interfaces with everyone in your supply
chain.
