Mark Oakes is a project manager in VPMEP's Richmond office. An industrial engineer by training, his 17 years of experience has expanded to consulting capabilities in industrial engineering, lean enterprise, industrial process improvement, plant layout, and manufacturing shop assessments. Mark is certified in delivering lean manufacturing techniques by NIST MEP (National Institute of Standards and Technology MEP). He has helped several companies implement lean techniques and improve their productivity. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech, and a Masters in Administration - Industrial Management from Lynchburg College. Mark is currently president of the Institute of Industrial Engineers' Richmond chapter.
