The Company
The TIA division of the Richards Corporation manufactures aircraft galley equipment for corporate aircraft, regional jets, and selected military transports since 1967. TIA is located in Sterling, VA, and employs 25 workers.

The Problem
TIA was requested by customers to achieve AS 9100 compliance. AS 9100 is the Aerospace Quality Management Standard based on ISO 9000. In addition, the company needed to implement this AS 9100 system without loosing sight of the FAA’s quality requirements.

The Response
GENEDGE ALLIANCE worked with key staff to develop an implementation plan, and help the management team develop a better understanding of the AS 9100 standards. Processes were developed, task teams created, and GENEDGE ALLIANCE participated in the path to certification.

The Results
GENEDGE ALLIANCE assisted with auditing, coaching, and facilitation resulting in certification on the first audit with no open findings. As a result of AS 9100 certification the company was able to:
-retain business,
-create/save 5 jobs,
-achieve new business,
-and have cost savings with a combined value exceeding $668,000.
